The PaSTIS Research Unit was officially established in 2008 with the aim of gathering research activities on social studies on science, technology, media and innovation of a group of researchers operating at the Department of Sociology of the Padova University.

Themes and interests that unify scholars working within the research Unit ar e divided in four different areas:

1) Science & Technology social representations
2) Mass media and communication
3) Medicine & technology
4) Innovation, environment and territory
