Francesca Gambarotto is professor of applied economics at the FISPPA Department, University of Padova. She teaches circular economy for local development, regional economics and economics of innovation. Her main research interests are in sustainable territorial development through the analysis of circular economy, firms’ innovation processes and decision-makers polity. Using the variety of capitalism framework, she analyses regional disparities and problems of economic periferization. Recently, she was visiting scholar at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy in Germany.
She was in national and European research teams like Esemk – European Socio-Economic Models of a Knowledge-based Society – ICaTSEM – Institutional Changes and Trajectories of Socio-Economic development Models – Shoecoll, Leonardo da Vinci Programme, Profili, European Interreg Italy-Slovenia)
Since 2014 she is president of the Scientific and Technological Park Galileo in Padova and previously she had the same role for the Venetian Nanotechnology District in the bailout phase.
