Research areas

Pa.S.T.I.S. promotes, develops and coordinates research, consultancy and training, with the aim of sharing knowledge and developing projects that engage stakeholders in scientific research and technological innovation.

These activities are divided into four areas:

researchareas | Padova Science Technology and Innovation Studies Pa.S.T.I.S. promotes, develops and coordinates research, consultancy and training, with the aim of sharing knowledge and developing projects that engage stakeholders in scientific research and technological innovation.Pa.S.T.I.S. also promotes in-depth seminars during the entire academic year and the organization of conferences and conventions, including the IV National Conference of STS Italia.

Pa.S.T.I.S. is partner of public and private companies and organizations for carrying out research, studies and activities designed to stimulate, enhance and develop technological innovation and collaboration between universities and different actors and institutions. This is conducted by members of the research unit through the realization of studies and researches commissioned and ad hoc consulting activities targeted to professionals and other groups.

Pa.S.T.I.S. intervenes in this way in the context of innovation by providing knowledge and tools to mediate between experts, citizens, policy makers, entrepreneurs and other actors. In particular, Pa.S.T.I.S. conducts research and studies to accompany the processes of digitalisation of public institutions and private companies, the adoption of new information and communication technologies (ICT) in complex organizations, the processes of participation and involvement in projects of urban redevelopment and infrastructure building, in  the relationships between different groups, the successful and productive transfer of knowledge and technology from the research field to public institutions and private actors.

Pa.S.T.I.S. has collaborated, among others, with the National Institute of Astrophysics – INAF, Trieste SINCOTRONE – SCPA, the ‘permanent observatory on youth of the Veneto Region, waste management services, the Laboratory for Planetary teaching of Bologna and the Veneto Regional Committee for Communications (Co.Re.Com.).
