During the month of June PaSTiS organizes a series of seminars on Science, Technology & Media Studies within the PhD program in Social Sciences: Interactions, Communication, Cultural Constructions at the University of Padua. The seminars will take place online on 14, 22 and 30 June and will be presented by Paolo Magaudda and Marco Scarcelli. During the seminars several scholars will share and discuss their research experiences. The first meeting “Media, Sexualities and Masculinities” will be held by John Mercer from Birmingham City University, presenting a talk on research questions and challenges in masculinities and media studies; the two following meetings will focus on Science and Technology Studies, including a talk by Attila Bruni from the University of Trento on Airbnb digital infrastructures and a second talk by Barbara Morsello from the University of Padua about the role of online Refused Knowledge Communities (RKCs) during the Sars-Cov2 pandemic. The seminar series will be closed by a last meeting on Media, Gender and Intimacy with Jamie Hakim from King’s College University London.
